Well, you had to know it was coming, it was only a matter of time. When the GOP were casting aside the likes of William Buckley Jr., Chuck Hagel, Ron Paul, and other like party types because they were "not right enough", it was inevitable that Sarah Palin would join company with them.
In its current quest for party puritanism, there are now only a handful of nationally known folks who haven't been tossed under for speaking out against the contemporary liberalized yet authoritarian GOP. One problem about that lock step mentality, like Piranha in a feeding frenzy, it is inevitable that they will eat a few of their own in some cannibalistic orgy of blame laying.
Sarah Palin who just a year ago was the darling savior of the right, their next big hope for 2012. The fire and excitement she generated amid her controversial run as Vice President didn't go unnoticed. While many saw her as a divisive figure, others saw her as hitting that vein of Average Americanism populism that appealed to housewives, plumbers, cashiers, and blue collar types.
Sarah Palin even wrote a book, "Goin Rogue" and again, cheers and jeers. Who would have thought that her going rogue would draw the ire of the GOP in general and yesterdays darling suddenly became todays liability.
After her stunt up in NY where she supported the alleged, "true conservative" candidate over that of the GOP's pick of choice, then with her public endorsement of Rand Paul, the son of Ron Paul which stirred many a Libertarian sentiment last Presidential cycle, the GOP finally had enough.
Now, Sarah Palin is about as popular as Lyme disease among the establishment GOP. After all they can't have her going rogue on her own and supporting candidates who are running against the establishment types. So as a bouncer tosses a troublemaker from a club, the GOP's party burning party has tossed Sarah to the curb.
Now the GOP has turned its back on the youthful Ron Paul supporters, the moderate and intellectuals who would stand with Chuck Hagel and Bill Buckley Jr., thumbed down the Hispanic and Latino voters who were their largest minority segment when they chided Sonia Sotomayor, and now they are tossing under the bus those blue collar Republican types who have so strongly supported Sarah Palin. What is left of the GOP of tomorrow?
A handful of old white guys standing around waiting for the Obama administration to screw up does not a party make. This is what the Wall Street Journal does and they aren't about to share space.
Maybe all that isn't a bad thing. Maybe the Neo-Con's are finally losing control of the party.
After 30 years of wrecking the country, damaging the party, shredding the Constitution and raising questions about their own honesty, maybe this is just their last gasp before the Tea Party advocates and real conservatives take back the GOP after the mid-term elections.
Good grief. Need I remind you...she's NOT RUNNING for anything!!!
Is it possible to go one flipping day without yet another gratuitous thread about Palin?
Actually it was less about Palin and more about the GOP tossing her aside. I realize you probably just read the title then posted but there is some text between the topic title and the reply button.

Yes, the text is just more regurgitated conjecture about the upcoming and inevitable demise of the Republican party.
Given the state of affairs existing within the Democratic party these days, and since they're the ones holding the power cards, I'd think you want to address that concern. Remember the Dems? The ones with all three branches, supermajority?
Spend a little time talking about their inability to get healthcare reform passed in this past year. Seems a little more relevant than Palin.

I guess I broke the 11th commandment, "Thou shalt not be critical of the GOP".
Conjecture about the upcoming inevitable demise, no, not at all. The demise is current and near total. A political party that waits for the other party to screw things up as the basis for regaining a majority is one that is reactive not pro-active.
Thanks for the info TnHillTopper. You are one of the very few on this forum whose information I accept as credible before checking it out. . . nice. . .
What you say about the Grand Old Party is all true.
I wish Sarah Palin would go back to Alaska and take care of her children.
She's had her 15 minutes of fame....
