John Kyl is not someone whose word I would take on any matter at all. Does that answer your question?
Paygo rules have been established in the House since early 2007. Similar Paygo rules had been in effect during the 1990's, but they were summarily dumped by Republicans as soon as Bush was sworn into office. The Senate has struggled with adopting these rules, but managed to do so in January. Every Republican voted against them.
Go read the law. The request for unanimous consent was re an extension of existing law, not the passage of new law, and the spending that would have resulted is already part of the Paygo baseline, and hence cannot have constituted any change relative to that baseline.
I guess mother Nancy failed to realize that she had re-established PayGo as soon as she got control of the House but then what can we expect from her? When do the Senators plan to start following the rule since they did insert it over a month ago? It doesn't seem to me that they are being very honest about it all yet. I guess they need more than $50 billion a year from Medicare. Is that right? They surely don't plan to fund their new piece of crap health care bill with anything but borrowed money, do they?
I really get a kick out of that thing they call unanimous consent. Really a fancy way to keep from voting on things, I think. When the minority party goes along with crap like that they are purely wrong but they know that some day they will be back in power no matter which party it is.
There were stocks going up during the crash as well. Since their number of manufacturing jobs peaked in the mid-1990's, China has lost just about as many manufacturing jobs as we have. And we still out-produce them. Keep in mind that China is a nation with three times our population and one-third our GDP. Meanwhile, like agriculture before it, manufacturing is becoming a less and less labor-intensive activity. At a national level, no manufacturing economy can expect to be growing jobs through expanded manufacturing.
Today, there are no jobs left in our country for American workers.
Why? Bottom line. Because our jobs have gone to other countries.
Maybe there are more important things than cheap products for American consumers and high profits for stockholders and CEO's...
Maybe, the American consumer should boycott these companies' products until they bring back our jobs. Sadly, when you look at the list... there would be no products left that we could buy.
"Here is a list of companies that are confirmed to be exporting American jobs.... These are U.S. companies that have either sent American jobs overseas or are choosing to employ cheap overseas labor -- instead of employing American workers"
Originally I'm from Chicago but moved (stupid mistake) to Louisville, Kentucky, a few years ago.
His attitude in Kentucky can be very well understood; the most (MOST) important thing in the world is basketball. I'll bet that a lot of the trailer dwelling people agree with his attitude. In Kentucky basketball is the meaning of life; a reason for living. People's lives or health are nowhere near as important. Jim Bunning is a zero. I wonder how times he had been beaned during his baseball career?
Two thousand federal transportation workers were furloughed without pay on Monday, and the Obama administration said they have a Kentucky senator to blame for it.
Federal reimbursements to states for highway programs will also be halted, the Transportation Department said in a statement late Sunday. The reimbursements amount to about $190 million a day, according to the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
The furloughs and freeze on payments were the result of a decision last week by Republican Sen. Jim Bunning to block passage of legislation that would have extended federal highway and transit programs, the department said. Those programs expired at midnight Sunday.

Remember to preface "No one should suffer / die because they lack {fill in the blank}", with "No one should be compelled to labor for another, so that...."
Sample:
"No one should be compelled to labor for another, so that no one should suffer from loss of their job."
Slavery is never an acceptable solution to the ills of mankind.
Voluntary charity is a blessing.
Compulsory charity is a curse.

Don't you DARE slander profit seekers for the demise of American industry.
BLAME the REAL culprit - government.
When government burdens the productive for the benefit of the non-productive, the productive will not thrive nor survive.
Every one who hires an undocumented worker is voting, with his meager personnel budget, against the bloated overhead expense of hiring legal labor.
If all taxes on productive industry and labor were repealed, do you think that expatriate companies wouldn't flock to these shores?
Why compel our industries and labor to work for the benefit of another, so that {fill in the blank with your favorite entitlement slogan}?
Slavery (involuntary servitude) is never a viable solution to the ills of mankind.
And it is not wise to "feed" the government.
Government makes nothing but more government.
Government gives nothing but that which was taken from someone else.
Just say "NO" to socialism.
