It seems that the ACLU after having some success in getting the trials moved to New York City is ready to attack Obama if he does an about face. Poor soul, gets it coming and going. The far left which is partly the ACLU don't want to see him go back on his promise no matter whether New York City can afford the trials or not.

In case you don't want to read the whole article to see what the ACLU is thinking read the words of one of their people here.
"If this stunning reversal comes to pass, President Obama will deal a death blow to his own Justice Department, not to mention American values," said American Civil Liberties Union Anthony D. Romero. "Even with recent improvements, the military commissions system is incapable of handling complicated terrorism cases and achieving reliable results. President Obama must not cave in to political pressure and fear-mongering. He should hold firm and keep these prosecutions in federal court, where they belong." Every source I looked at had these words at the very last.

So wait a minute. Is Obama a terrorist-loving enemy of the United States, or is he standing up to the terrorist lovers at the ACLU?

I'm so confused. I guess I'll have to wait for Glenn Beck to explain it all to me.

How about choice C? An inept, tone-deaf Commander-in-Chief who underestimated the political and public backlash of a stupendously ludicrous decision, and is now forced to look at alternatives?

They are lawyers and in sleazy John Edwards fashion they feel Gitmo trials here will offer a number of sleazy firms full employment for years, if not decades, to come at taxpayer expense. The taxpayer is you.

Quote:
The Bloomberg administration has placed the price for security operations for the trials of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed and other terrorism suspects connected to the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, at more than $200 million a year, which would make it by far the costliest security operation for a single event in the city in recent memory.
We're going to be spending $200 million on this assclown?

With 17% of Americans jobless maybe a $30,000 a year job wouldn't appeal to some but to others it could be a Godsend. $200 million represents a $30,000 job to almost 6,700 Americans and instead they want to spend the money on Khalid Shaikh Mohammed?

But now the leaders of the second grade elementary school are in charge and after attacking Bush on Gitmo for years what can they do but spend a few billion? This is what happens when you put school children in charge.

If I had been President I would have ordered intelligence agencies to get whatever information they could from him by whatever means and when done put a bullet in his head leaving him in some back alley somewhere.

I heard costs of all the posed trials would run into billions.

What a complete embarrassment.

He is completely caving to the pressure of his really bad, stupid decision.

Does anybody believe Holder made the decision without obama's go ahead?

Of course not.

Holder under the bus.

Doesn't apply to prisoners taken in war.

War on Terror..War in Iraq, War in <name your favorite country>
Those are POW's ..not under the Constitution.

Then again..maybe they are considered American citizens due every right an American citizen gets in spite of being terrorists who would love to see our country blown up to smithereens.
