Murder charge filed against driver in teen's road rage death | Chronicle | Chron.com - Houston Chronicle

Currently enjoying his freedom after posting a measly 50,000 bond, the murderer eagerly awaits the day when his name will be cleared on all counts, because you see, here in Texas, once you're deemed legally able to carry, you can obviously do no wrong.

Meanwhile, a young victim rests.

The courts will decide and I bet they decide for prison.

Er, as it says in the article "pursuit is not self defense" even if he's sick in the mind enough to claim it.

It's road rage and murder, he chased them down and then shot them in cold blood.

Very sad and unneccesary loss of life. I suspect all the facts will come out at trial. Not blaming the victim but I have to wonder what was in the mother's head to speed up and then pass this car after obtaining the license info. while her daughter was in the car with her. She should not have tried to play cop with her child in the car. It would have been much safer to hang back at a distance.

By reported accounts it seems clear this 24 yr. old was in the wrong, not once, but twice. Justice should be served. First hit & run, then shoot & hide. Not indicative of most CCW holders but like the OP others will use him as a bad example.

Very sad indeed. I hope the action of this one lame individual does not risk the rights of all lawful CCW holders. The anti-gunmovement likes nothing more to put all CCW's into the same category.

It only takes one. That goes for every instance of someone screwing up.

I don't know all the details of the case but the man needs to have his day in court. It is how we do things in the United States of America. I can assume he is guilty based on info posted here but he has to be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Why is when someone with a carry permit whether it be self defense or possibly murder the media doesn't hesitate to say that the person has a carry permit? I never hear them say when a murderer that doesn't have a permit used an illegal gun.

If I were a defense lawyer in this case, I would definitely refer to this internet thread as prejudicial.

Incidentally, she is a local university police officer, off duty at the time of the incident. Her actions are completely blameless.
