Wife bought a new Forester this summer, making 8 total vehicles in front of our house. Out of all those vehicles (oldest 1991 Lumina) not one was eligible for Cash for Clunkers.
We did get an income tax credit for the sales tax, though.

No,we never buy new.Unlike our country we do not run up debt and lose money paying interest.We have a 99 Alero and will drive it till the wheels fall off.We should get a couple of years out of it at least.

Our gas-guzzling lemon of a Jeep Grand Cherokee was traded for a Camry, which had it's recall issue fixed already. Gone from 14 to 26 mpg.
