It's no surprise that some conservatives love to hate Hollywood.

Michael Moore and Sean Penn are perennial favorites. But Tom Hanks?

The star of such flag-waving films as "Saving Private Ryan" and "Apollo 13" and producer of the World War II miniseries "Band of Brothers" has come under fire recently for remarks he made while promoting his current project, "The Pacific."

Here it is; I've been waiting for it.

That kid is going to become rich.

If he had a legal Rx for the stuff; then the drug company failed (sue them) and the employer can be sued as well.

I predict he won't go back to his job because he'll have too much money and with cases like this they will put on his record that he resigned.
Don't you just love the law!

Hanks remarks were flat out ignorant. We didn't want to annihilate Japan due to them having different beliefs or because they were slant eyed or anything else of that nature. We wanted to annihilate them because they struck us first at Pearl Harbor. We were a sleeping dog and they were stupid enough to wake us up.

It takes a liberal to dream up such a stupid comment like Hanks made. And leave it to all the Hollywood liberals to not even think twice about it. They were probably nodding their heads in agreement, saying America was evil then and we are now.

Richard Pearle should attempt a trip to reality before suggesting what others need to do. To suggest of the Iraq War that "We're there at the request of the Iraqi government" is the height of the conservative disconnect with the real world. Saddam Hussein was the Iraqi government upon our arrival there and that arrival was most certainly not at the overnment's request.

Anyone attempting to claim there was no element of racism in play during the WW II era would perhaps care to explain the vast difference in the way Japanese-Americans vs. German-Americans were treated during that era?

Or the way the Chinese were treated or the way American, British, and Australian POWs were treated.
Have you ever heard of the Rape of Nanking or Unit 731 or the Bataan Death March or the Cannibals of Chichi-Jima?

Hank's comments were profoundly ignorant. He tries to correlate the island hopping campaigns of WW2 to the War Against Terrorism. Positively astounding.

BULL! We're talking about America and American citizens here, not what China or any other country did. We are responsible for our actions. By your logice we'd be justified flying airplanes into buildings loaded with innocent civilians as others have done, right?

The people who would attempt to tell us America has always acted fairly with altruistic intent are profoundly ignorant of history.
