President Obama's pitch: Fate of presidency on the line - Glenn Thrush - POLITICO.com

Quote:
One caucus member told POLITICO that Obama won him over by “essentially [saying] that the fate of his presidency” hinged on this week’s health reform vote in the House.

Added Serrano: “He was subtle, but that was the underlying theme of the meeting — the importance of passing this for the health of the presidency.”

“The White House is raising the stakes so high, they are basically telling [House Democrats] that failure is not an option unless you want to sink the president,” said health industry lobbyist Steve Elmendorf, a onetime adviser to Rep. Dick Gephardt, a former Democratic leader.
Why, what could be more important than giving obama a "win" that he thinks would save his flailing presidency? Certainly not the 300 million people this legislation would affect, certainly not the millions of taxpayers who will be forced to pay for other people's insurance, who will be forced out of their current plans.

I've said for a long time now, this is all about obama - country be damned.

Basically, everything he has done and announced that he plans to do is about himself. He has constantly displayed little regard for what people are saying or want.

No big suprise.

The main idea of this article--The Executive branch has become too powerful.

How long exactly have you said this for? I would assume it would go back for at least eight or nine years.

Remeber it all started when "that man" got in the White House.

Yes it is all about Obama.

Since he has been an epic failure on all aspect of this job he has to find something that he can say he has accomplished.

He and his followers will believe that if this HC passes that his poor performance will then be forgotten. The joke is on them as most of us know even if this does pass that the majority are NOT with him on it.

He is pushing it because it is the only major promise that he can actually say he has a chance of accomplishing.

What he does not realize is what he thinks is an accomplishment is not really an accomplishment by am means.

If this passes it will be just another nail in the liberal coffin of failures.

Sad to think that someone can take down an entire party with the swipe of on item like this just so save face on his massive failures.

LOL

As opposed to "what could be more important than giving Obama a "loss" that the GOP thinks could destroy his Presidency?
As you've said for a long time now "this is all about Obama - country be damned".

It's sad that you've got a small group that refuse to listen to the majority of the country and have turned this into nothing more than a p****ng contest. They're going to destroy a major part of our economy just to say "I told you so".

Treasonous b****rds.
