The America of their youth, where women stayed at home and couldn't vote, where Jim Crow was the law of the land and Negroes stayed in their place........yes, what a vibrant country America was.
These guys are angry and feel helpless because they are seeing the America of their youth, with all its vibrancy and opportunity, slipping away in favor of a sluggish European-style nanny state. Can you blame them?
They know that the gravy train they have been on for over a decade is coming to an end! They sold their souls to the isurance, drug companies and the defense contractors and they are now going to be accountable. They will now have to do what is right for their constituants instead of their own self interest.

They're angry because they are now experiencing the same type of exclusion as a minority party in Congress as they practiced for years when they (Newt, DeLay, et al) were running roughshod over bipartisanship and fairness. They treated the Dems like they were less than nothing. Payback is a *****, right?
They feel helpless because they don't have, and haven't had, a single idea that would actually serve to benefit America since...........since when, I don't know.
Good post; in complete agreement; the GOP's "big idea" to reforming health care was to provide "portable insurance" ( i.e. a MA resident getting his insurance coverage from BC/BS of Arizona, etc); the same stuff they've trotted out for years, etc.
They were never serious, or enthusiastic, about reforming health care. The status quo was just fine with them.
yea, the Cincinnati of John Boehner ... where they are afraid of Robert Mapplethorpe pictures and Larry Flynt. Oh, and there's a swell museum about creation there.
