Thing is it's a matter for law enforcement. I'm wondering if it was reported.

In Washington state, the age of consent is 16 - but the older person can be no more than 5 years older than the 16 or 17 year old.

Who knows who got her pregnant. It's really not relevant. Most likely, it's probably another teenage student and the sex was perfectly legal.

This is disturbing news as we are in process of opening a school based health center. As a parent I would be fortified to find that my child obtained an abortion with the help of a health center at the school . This should not have occured. I agree with other post in regards to safety. An abortion can be life threatening and parents should be informed regarding serious medical procedures. Laws have to be changed to protect children. I understand mom's reaction, she has a right to be upset. If we didn't hear this story then we wouldn't know that changes should be made. This is certainly not the goal of health centers on school campuses.

Why?
She meets the requirements of the law.
If she's old enough to get pregnant, she's old enough to make other decisions for HER body.

What if the fears you had happened for any other reason?
OMF, she may have had an accident on the way to the mall with her friend...

This is a very good question.

I also wonder if the daughter was anti-choice because the mother pushed it on her.
