In light of the current debt/deficit situation, would you support a national sales tax on internet purchases?

Why or why not?

I do not support any VAT or national sales tax without first a complete repeal of the income tax and estate tax.

No. I oppose all regressive sales taxes. All taxes should be based on all income from all sources and taxed at an exponentially increasing rate.

Certainly I support it.

We don't pay nearly enough in taxes, and need to pay more.

Yes, but only with certain exceptions laid out by the Supreme Court. Most of those exceptions have to do with brick-and-mortar businesses doing business in the state.

I will not support any tax increases until spending is reigned in and the budget is balanced with slashes to ALL government programs and expenditures. Until they can prove they deserve additional money and can responsibly manage it, they don't deserve a penny more.

I agree.

Here's another angle: What if the legislation establishing the tax mandated that all collections go towards paying down the debt? Would you be more inclined to support it?

Personally, I think a national tax would give legislators another cover for spending.

No. We're taxed too much already.

No I am not in support of such a tax.

I would also like to have online gambling legalized once again.
