The unemployment rate has been 9.7% for 3 months running. The 162k was still around 30k short of expectations, and 50k of the total was Census related.
First quarter GDP is only predicted to grow by 2-3%, the BEA report will be out at the end of the month.

Yeah, those Communist census workers were employed by that Muslim terrorist Obama to pad the jobs number. It's all a conspiracy to make him look good. The nerve!

Of course you didn't mention that although the job growth (and it WAS growth) was less than the consensus, the REASON it was less was because the number of TEMPORARY Census workers were less than expected. The number of private workers hired was a pretty good number (at least for a start - and it will go up).
All in all, I'm pleased. I've been saying since last fall that job growth WILL begin in the spring - and here we go - with job GROWTH in the SPRING.
We are DONE with the bleeding. Now the recovery REALLY begins to take hold.
And THAT is good news indeed.
1/2 of the jobs were census and temps..not really great news is it...no real signs of any improvement in the private sector....manu jobs propped up by govt buying and bailouts to the auto guys...look at the private sector jobs lost in service industries...give me a break..it's all smoke and mirrors..and our debt just keeps growing

Yeah, RIGHT.
LOL
You are going to be in for a VERY DISAPPOINTING time coming up - since EVERY MONTH from here on out will show more jobs being created.
Eventually even YOU will have to face the fact that you were/are WRONG.
Actually I guess on second thought you will NEVER admit the truth.
Sadly for you (and HAPPILY for America) - that doesn't change the fact that it IS the TRUTH.
