No, the tea party is not mainstream America. It seems to function only as an outlet for frightened, angry people who haven't been paying attention to politics for the past couple of decades. They seem to have no idea whatsoever how America got to the state it's now in. They DO see a black man in the White House, though.
How DARE you paint such a broad brush. Accusations of racism, ignorance, etc. is wrong, ignorant and racist on YOUR part. I'd like to see your proof that I am what you accuse me of. Because I am part of that group that you are making accusations about, and therefore you are accusing me of those things.

I'm going to make this perfectly clear: I do not dislike/disagree with/protest against this president because he's black. I could care less what color his skin is (unlike the liberal kooks that can ONLY see his skin color). It's because of his unending failures as a president, his constant reckless spending of tax dollars, his foreign policy disasters, and his continuing march towards socialism.

For the record, I HATED Jimmy Carter as a president. I love Allen West from Florida, and wish he would run for president. How do you explain this? It's because one was a radical leftie. The other is an honorable conservative. See, NOTHING to do with race.

And for the record, I HAVE been following politics my whole life. That's why I can say that this president's policies will haunt us for generations to come.

Do you believe Obama is a legitimate President. Is his administration legitimate? Was he born in Kenya? Is he a Muslim? Is he behind a plot to turn the US into a Communist nation? Are their plans for FEMA camps. Does Obama want to stamp out Christianity in the US. Will Obama come to your home and take away your guns?

What are your views on these crackpot conspiracy theories ? Do they have merit, yes or no?
This thread is not about my views. It is about the makeup of the TP movement and what they stand for.

Obviously, you have been mislead based on a few pictures and quotes from a fringe element that has been picked up (manufactured) by the Left and the MSM has tried to make a story out of it.

The AP and CNN are telling because finally, the media is doing a little reporting instead of just repeating the talking points from the Left. The CNn embed story is particularly good - why don't you read it, as it probably touches on a lot of the misconceptions YOU have.

You are not part of the tea party movement? You have nothing to do with the tea party movement? Why do you continue to refuse to answer a simple question about your political views. I mean this is a forum for politics, yet your views are out of bounds?

And in case you haven't noticed, their make-up includes a lot of people who like yourself think that everything about our president including our president's citizenship is a lie and no matter how you try to spin it and what the demographics are of most tea pary members, that is NOT mainstream.

Stop trying to hijack thread by making it about me. I am not a member of the TP, although I did attend a local event last year.

Just put up your links that corroborate what you have heard about the TP.

You can't, can you?

How are your views not important to this thread? The claim is that the Tea Party is mainstream. Are you saying you're not mainstream or that you're not a supporter of the tea party? The questions he asked are reasonable questions to ask on an OP topic you started.

I think he just admitted he is part of the fringe element. If holding up a sign claiming that Obama is Hitler makes you part of a fringe element, and you share this view, well than you part of the fringe.

Maybe when he can back up the misinformation he has heard and posted on this thread, I'll be inclined to answer. As I said, I'm not a member and really this thread is about the mainstream values of the TP found by numerous news outlets.

I'd like to find out where he gets his misinformation, but maybe you can provide it because it seems your views of the TP are the same?
