Sarkozy was not president during the freedom fry time. France would not allow our military aircraft into their airspace. So the freedom fries issue came up. As I recall many democrats went along with it .
yes as American we can support statements and not support other statements. Just like Obamas lies over the years. Obama claims Israel is an ally then snubs them as an enemy.
Yes, but when it's as blatant as "If they say something good about Obama the whole country is made up of cowardly losers"
"If they say somenthing bad about Obama then they're correct"
Here we go again with the Rightists Two-Faced Society!
First: The rightists say other countries and their opinons don't matter.
Second: A country says something they believe is derogatory about Obama and suddenly their word is gold.
Wait until France says something good about Obama...and we'll have more of the ignorant "Freedom Fries" and snarky comments about the French from braindead rightists once again....
Sad that repugs NEED France on their side .....LOL!
The opinions of the rest of the world DO NOT MATTER regarding the direction of policy that is important to the US.
What does matter is the RESPECT that those leaders show the POTUS, whether they agree or not, with those policies.
The rest of the world may not have agreed with Bush, but most respected and feared him- that is what we need for foriegn policy. The current world leaders think Obama is a joke and have no respect at all for him. That creates a dangerous world, in which our enemies, knowing we have a weak leader, are emboldened to strongly advance agendas for thier own nations which may occur at the expense of the US. When the POTUS is weak, there will be little consequence.
Yes the "EUTimes" looks like a very reliable source.
In addition the the flashing ad banner at the top of the page that screamed at me "YOU WON!!!!", i see the classic "muslims overpopulating the world" video right there in the top-right corner. Not to mention this very scientific poll:
Quote:
Regarding the recent Islamic terrorist attacks in Russia. What should Russia do?
* Deport all Muslims to North Caucasus and give them independence
* Kill all Muslims and keep its territories
* Convert to Islam and pray for mercy from Muslims
* Just complain to UN and NATO
* Do nothing about it, just welcome more terrorist attacks
The winner: Kill all Muslims and keep its territories (53%, 442 Votes).
Mr. Obama, according to the survey by the Pew Global Attitudes Project, enjoys greater confidence among Germans than does Chancellor Angela Merkel, and among the French than President Nicolas Sarkozy.
The opinions of the rest of the world DO NOT MATTER regarding the direction of policy that is important to the US."""
We are ALL on planet earth...other countries opinions DO matter....to say they don't is the height of repugs arrogance and tunnel vision(another reason some countries hate us).

Show proof....you can't

See the difference?
You are seeing the world from a repugs eye which means the ONLY way of "getting along" is war and destruction...rule by fear like Hitler did....
Is there any leader in the world, besides Castro, Chavez, and our terrorist enemies, who have given Obama words of praise?
It seems as though the leaders of the world feel as though this man is an idiot. Is it not odd that the US electorate did not come to that realization as well before 2008? Perhaps these four years will provide that much needed education and a different result will occur in 2012.
Well, that's what happens when you "reset" relationships that don't need to be reset. He has routinely insulted and snubbed allies, while embracing enemies. I think France is just now figuring out what a complete disaster he is.
Yes, but when it's as blatant as "If they say something good about Obama the whole country is made up of cowardly losers"
"If they say somenthing bad about Obama then they're correct"
..it is seen for the stupidity it truly is...
Please name when the current president of France said something good about Obama. When you find it then try to find where the right criticized it.
I hope you understand as the governments of countries change it can bring a change of how people feel about that country
PARIS — President Barack Obama has catapulted past the Dalai Lama as the most respected world leader among West Europeans and Americans, according to a poll released Friday.
It was Obama's first appearance in the bimonthly survey, "World Leaders," which was first conducted in November by Harris Interactive for the International Herald Tribune and the all-news television channel France 24. Obama was sworn in on Jan. 20.
His ratings contrast sharply with those of his predecessor, George W. Bush, whose Republican Party was routed in the U.S. elections in November. Earlier results indicated that Bush was considered powerful but was not respected. The new survey shows Obama as the No. 1 world leader on both fronts.
