Is the Tea Party a national trend, a wake-up call for the liberals, or are most of these people pissed-off republicans?

The tea party's exaggerated importance - Jonathan Martin and Ben Smith - POLITICO.com

The tea party's exaggerated importance

2009 was the year when many journalists concluded they were slow to recognize the anti-government, anti-Obama rage that gave birth to the tea party movement.2010 is the year when news organizations have decided to prove they get it.And get it. And get it some more.Part of the reason is the timeless truth in media that nothing succeeds like excess. But part of the reason is a convergence of incentives for journalists and activists on left and right alike to exaggerate both the influence and exotic traits of the tea-party movement. In fact, there is a word for what poll after poll depicts as a group of largely white, middle-class, middle-aged voters who are aggrieved: Republicans.

Like I said, a bunch of pissed-off Republicans. Apparently, not pissed off enough to vote any GOP member out of office.

More than pissed off republicans. I've managed to magically capture the film running in the heads of Obama phobics. Here it is...

The t-baggers are a gift from heaven for the democrats. They are 90% pissed off republicans whom the republican party has virtually no control over. Right now they are just humorous to watch, but when the republican party starts trying to force the t-baggers into some coherent voting block they will find that they have a loose canon. T-baggers will do for the 2012 election what Ross Perot did for 1992.

The guy is a blue dog Donk so the TP's aren't voting a repub out of office but they aren't afraid to endorse a Dem.
