The problem with this bill .... like all financial reform bills and I include Sarbanes-Oxley which was passed under a Republican administration .... is that it is designed to prevent the last financial crisis from happening again rather than trying to prevent the next one.

Ah, the fun of it all. It just cycles the same horse crap over and over, while people think they are tricking people.

GOP: "We are voting against this bill, it's bad reform!"

Pretty much everyone else: "Okay, what is your suggestion?"

GOP: "Er, ah, we are working on it...but it's good I tell ya!"

Pretty much everyone else: "Can you show it to every one else?"

GOP: "Not right now, it's not done...but it will cover X,Y,Z."

Pretty much everyone else: "When will it be done?"

GOP: "Er, sometime...."

Pretty much everyone else: "So we should vote against this reform now in favor of an imaginary awesome bill, that will be done at an unspecified point in the future, and contains reform only vaguely alluded to in sweeping generalities?"

GOP: "Hell yeah! Otherwise you're unAmerican, wanting the country to fail, and supporting future destruction!"

You should look and see how poorly the banks are doing today in the market before proclaiming what america wants...

Just because YOU want something, doesnt mean the rest of society wants the same thing..

Both parties take money from Wall Street.

I think we need financial reform but there are so many loopholes in this bill and it doesn't go far enough.

If you're too big to fail, you're too big to exist.

It's a 1400 page bill with probably so much BS and pork in it...who could blame anyone for voting against anything these people do..

Most back stricter financial reform, advantage Obama - Behind the Numbers
