A Pentagon assessment, while expressing confidence in U.S. strategy, says the movement has flourished despite repeated assaults.

Reporting from Washington — A Pentagon report presented a sobering new assessment Wednesday of the Taliban-led insurgency in Afghanistan, saying that its abilities are expanding and its operations are increasing in sophistication, despite recent major offensives by U.S. forces in the militants' heartland.

U.S. Report on Afghan War Finds Few Gains in 6 Months

Quote:

But an array of measures suggest that the situation is little better over all than it was six months ago despite enormous expenditures of effort, money and lives by the American and international forces.
Unlike the surge in Iraq, which obama which was a tremendous success...and obama opposed, for some reason this surge is not having the same impact. Maybe from all the innocent women and children that have been killed in the last year.

This problem dates back a few years, ad the Taliban started to take shape again around 2006. Never finishing the job against the Taliban by focusing instead on Iraq has played a big role in the Taliban's gaining back power. We had them on the run, but instead of defeating them we went elsewhere and they were able to regroup while in hiding.

If you are going to post here, please have the courtesy of exercising at least recognizable spelling, syntax and logic. It's hard to respond to your mishmash of language and thinking. Are your drunk? Or have you been spending too much time reliving the Sarah Palin debate highlights?

Bush funded the Taliban:

How Washington Funded the Taliban | Ted Galen Carpenter | Cato Institute: Daily Commentary
he United States has made common cause with an assortment of dubious regimes around the world to wage the war on drugs. Perhaps the most shocking example was Washington's decision in May 2001 to financially reward Afghanistan's infamous Taliban government for its edict ordering a halt to the cultivation of opium poppies.
