I'm not a Rush fan, but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt.
The oil spill may not be natural, but oil is. He said it wrong, but he is not too far off.
Of course it's natural. Anyone with a 2nd grade education realizes that issue is not with oil in itself. It's bad when it's in our water and in our air, thus eventually in lungs or bellies. I suggest you pour some motor oil in your burger next time you eat one, let's see how natural that is. Better yet, pour some in the next pool you go into, let's see the reaction you'll get.
The spill from the Exxon took decades for payment.
They will get some money in time.
Honestly, I have insurance against this type of loss.
If they are smart, they do too.
Not a chance. Most Boat/Commercial policies have an exception involving International open water , disasters , weather related, and "natural" events. Its called Force majeure....besides, BP will make everything OK, they are afterall " behond petrolium" ,and the most green of the Oil companies. British Petro will become a household word soon , just like Exxon was, only worse, much worse. Hang on to your backside , if you think regulation is over the top now...its just begining to get started , you now have a problem, its your OIL.

If I am not mistaken, after the Exxon experience, they created a Federal law that would force, in this case BP, to pay for costs beyond the clean up, ie fishing industry losses, etc. Problem is, there is a limit of $75 million!!! Don't think that will be nearly enough. I think Congress is looking at increasing that limit to $10 billion, even if they do, it would not be retroactive to this event. I suspect there will be many law suits.
The POTUS did it to show the American people that he can handle a crisis = NOT.
Even this move he did himself backfired on him.
