Crowds in Greece are trying to storm the parliament but are being beaten back by riot police and tear gas. Right now they just aren't desperate enough to storm the building and destroy all that are inside. Give it time though...

There is believed to be a government Plunge Protection Program (PPP) that buys up stocks to prevent a psychological selloff from becoming self reinforcing. The economy is being held together by the psychology of the consumer....which is heavily influenced by statistics. Government spending is really designed to change pessimist to optimist by improving statistics through deficit spending. The hope is that once the consumer is optimistic again that they will pick up their spending because they see the future as brighter....and the government can then reduce its spending.

But the PPP isn't made up of gods. The free market is ultimately more powerful than this shadow group and we'll eventually see just how much so.

His location is irrelevant considering that he's predicted more with impeccable timing than Krugman or any of the other morons. He's also more objective and thus more creditable since he's been on TV criticizing Bush before.
