AFAIK, most places make you accept any legal job in order to claim welfare.

So does that mean a woman can be forced to work as a prostitute in a Nevada brothel(a legal one) in order to collect her money/foodstamps?

if not, then why can't I refuse to accept work at MacD's?

I hate to admit it, but you pose an interesting question...

I fully support the decriminalization of prostitution.

But, I certainly have an immediate balk reaction to forcing a woman to work as a prostitute (or a man, for that matter. As one would assume that male prostitution would also be legal).

so what can be done about it?

it you want welfare you must accept a job offer so why can we have a special case here?

you want welfare - you must accept a job whatever it is.

how can you have it both ways?

If a woman would be forced into a sexual job...why not a man?

if forced to work in a sex job is no longer prostitution...it is slavery and the state becomes the pimp.

Is this what your sick mind would like to see become reality?

not forced, just given a choice if they want welfare.

so of course they can say no, but then it's no foodstamps.

this is fair, right?

I mean, if I have to take on work at MacD's why should other people be able to turn down a job offer?

How is it sick?

Brothels are legal in some places and if the establishment puts out a job offer and you are on welfare, then how can you turn it down?

let's have some consistency.

Interesting article that makes you think. I would be claiming rape which is against the law so I couldn't see welfare recipients having to work in the sex industry. I will never move to Nevada!
