Interesting, I watched a program investigating some of the foreign based businesses Walmart buys from that violate many work practices here in the US, the workers interviewed faces were blacked out for fear of losing their job or worse, shed poor light on Walmart. When a company wants to sell products and provide consumers the cheapest deal, where do you think the goods are coming from?

Some major labels sold by high end retailers do the same, their products are produced in foreign countries where the employees are treated badly, reveals the greed IMO.

Would those folks starve and die over "there" if walmart or nike or whoever didn't buy from em? Many of these countries a person can live on a buck a day like kings.

I'm not sure I would make any time predictions but November would be as good a guess as any. The end of the year is typically bad for many folks what with Christmas time, property and income taxes.

No, Its not about the standard of living in their countries, I appreciate Walmarts effort to provide lower prices to grab consumers, the program was another mark against Walmart, as if they didn't have enough already. Some Americans do care about the work conditions they're buying from.

WHY is it about Obama when the article clearly states "Wal-Mart blamed bad weather last month in most U.S. regions and the early Easter on April 8, which pushed many Easter sales into March."

Do you believe Obama controls the weather as well as the Christian calendar?

Yeah..didn't you know..I stop eating when it rains because I don't want to get wet going to the store

BTW..even with the floods in Tenn. reports said stores were emptied out and many braved the floods to go get food.

Easter is a big shopping season now..like Christmas maybe ?

lol..one day of candy baskets and that broke Walmart ?

The wal-mart near me just totally re-designed every department, And stopped carrying the cheap brands.

Maybe that has something to do with it?

Haven't been to wal-mart in months...

I've maybe gone to the rural Walmart once a year. I'd rather support the independants..we're going to need those relationships.

Is this news to you? Are you unaware that many other companies manufacture their goods overseas under similar conditions, e.g. Nike?
