Bill Clinton rips left in Arkansas race - Jonathan Martin - POLITICO.com

"It’s a clash that pits the ascendant forces of the progressive left against a centrist Southern Democrat cut from Clinton’s own Democratic Leadership Council mold, a proxy fight that the former president and longtime Arkansas governor sought to underscore by noting that Lincoln’s “opponent is not her opponent.”"

A little more than that. The left could knock Lincoln out paving the way for a Republican to take that seat.

For all practical puposes Lincoln IS a Republican. She has voted with them virtually 100% of the time on fundamental issues whether it was women's rights, health care or other issues that are fundamental to us. So even if a Republican is in her place, it really won't make that much of a difference.

The GOP was already favored to win the seat. The Democratic Party doesn't need Blue Dogs ( corporate shills ) sullying the brand. If you want to be a tool for corporate lobbyists you belong with the GOP. I don't care if that means losing control of the Senate. In the long run it's better to stand for something.
Nelson, Landrieu, Lincoln need to go away.

More examples. Thanks for the help guys!

Can you say implode. Maybe the 50 state strategy wasn't so wise after all.

So the fact that this current administration is rife with former lobbysists must drive you bananas, huh?

I don't know what your so gleeful about.

Progressives are attempting to rid the party of members who vote in favor of corporations over middle class Americans and vote to take away civil liberties in favor of Big Brother government. Both of these efforts appeal to moderates, independents, and Libertarians.

The GOP "big tent" includes corporate shills, religious zealots, war mongers, and authoritarians who favor government limitations on civil liberties. The Blue Dogs fit in well there.
