There are no Old Glory's, no Stars and Stripes. I read on another board by someone who researched it that this has never been done before at a formal news conference.

Prior to the inauguration there were comments about his lack of a US flag pin. IIRC, he began to wear the flag pin.

Then wasn't there several weeks worth of speculation about the oath of office? I honestly can't recall. I believe some are still questioning the validity of his birth certificate.

With truly critical issues facing this nation and the world I can't be concerned about this.

Someone sent me the same picture and I, too, wonder what it really says. It makes me wonder what kind, if any, message he is sending to the world. Is is downplaying American sovereignty by choosing to appear with no flag present? Does this raise questions about his personal loyalty to America as a sovereign nation? I'm sure there is a subtle message there but what it is and to whom it is addressed, I don't know. But it does remind me of the speculation about bin Laden's taped messages to the world and what hidden messages may be in them.

I guess then that the answer would be, "No. This doesn't mean anything."

you think obama should go into every room that he enters and make sure there is a flag? I guess ronnie and should have done the same thing. seems much ado about nothing much, we have more important things to worry about than this

Give a moment or two to the angry young man,
With his foot in his mouth and his heart in his hand.
He's been stabbed in the back, he's been misunderstood,
It's a comfort to know his intentions are good.
And he sits in a room with a lock on the door,
With his maps and his medals laid out on the floor-
And he likes to be known as the angry young man.

I believe I've passed the age
Of consciousness and righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight.
I once believed in causes too,
I had my pointless point of view,
And life went on no matter who was wrong or right. OHHHHHHHH

H (from "Angry Young Man" by Billy Joel)

It means that people are still losing their sleep over having lost the elections.

I love people easily duped by propaganda, since it very obviously has never happened before.

Just be sure to willfully ignore any other pictures to the contrary, they are part of the conspiracy
