saw the apartments on the internet, we want to spend no more than 1000 month in Port St Lucie area and they look affordable but pictures rarely tell the whole story. I would like to hear from someone that lives in the area to get the full picture. We are two seniors retiring to Florida and any help would be appreciated.

I'd keep looking (elsewhere). Don't get me wrong, they like to plop these apt. complexes in lovely single-family residential areas, but I don't think you're going to find yourself living amongst quiet, mature, law-abiding retirees there in those apartments.

There is one rental (at the moment) in Kings Isle which is a 55+ community off St Lucie West Blvd - - for $1100. 2/2 with a 2 car garage. Kings Isle has services as well. Usually there are more but that is all there is at the moment.

Other than that there are homes for $1000 and $975 in Lake Forest - 2 car garage with lawn and cable inclided. Gated community. I'n sure you would be happy there as well.

the thing is.... you want a short term rental and its SEASON till next Easter. These are not seasonal rates, they are yearly only.

St Andrew's Pointe.....loud and full of young, immature hoodlums. Defintely not a wise choice for two seniors in retirement. My grandparents live in Spanish Lakes, also a 55+ community that is wonderful. I had a family friend that lived in King's Isle as well and it's a very nice community. I would definitely look more into Saint Lucie West rather that Fort Pierce.
