Treasure Coast residents, do any of you have a lemon tree in your yard ? I love fresh lemon water and hope that I can grow a lemon tree (or be lucky enough to buy a house that already has one in its yard). I assume the climate is warm enough for them (!) but I wonder how common they are in landscaping, and how difficult they are to grow. I am SO looking forward to tropical plants and trees in our new hometown !
Thanks for any comments.

They grow quite well and produce an abundance of lemons. They are attractive and fit right in the landscaping. Don't get one from a home center. Get a nice sized healthy one from a nursery and you'll be in business in no time. I'd also suggest you look for a home with a half-acre lot. If you're really into tropical plants and citrus, your yard will fill up fast.

I love lemon trees too, one will be plenty. I have two Improved Meyer Lemon trees here in New Orleans- hate to leave them. They are prolific, feed twice a year. When we get there I want a satsuma or other kind of citrus to eat.
No grapefruits, they get gigantic, huge thorns as do many citrus unless you get one that is a new hybrid.
