Do you live in Vero now or are you quoting something from years ago????I have a sneaking suspicion that the demographics have changed.

For some reason Disney thought it was cool enough of an area to put their resort

Plus old people don't dye their hair blue anymore

Thanks for the info about the Joy of Cooking by Panera. Never knew it was there. Gosh I work to much But I love to cook. I'll have to check it out.

HarryWho, you have a great sense of humor..I love it As for the blue hair thing. I did turn our standard white poodle blue one time..no joke! I used a bit to much of the whitening shampoo. Poor thing, I think he was embarrased. As for Vero People. Nope, don't see to much blue anymore. Botox yes, blue nope

I am a Vero native that is considered "young" and there are a lot more young people here now compared to when I grew up here! Vero has absolutely exploded in size compared to 30 years ago. Even the short time away for college and living up North after college (about 7 years) the town was completely different when my wife and I returned 8 years ago. It really is no longer Zero Beach. Like HarryWho? mentioned, some of the things it is missing are okay by me and my family. They are easily obtainable within a hour or two drive.

Also, I mixed up the name earlier and it is the Joy of Eating by Panera. They have deserts, but also daily specials on real meal items. Their crepes are excellent! As far as cooking stores, Soirée on Ocean Dr. across from Holiday Inn is awesome.

The Joy of Eating even sounds better!! I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the info.
I agree about the size of Vero. We love it here. If we need to Kohl's or what have you, its a short distance. And well worth it.

Oooh, crepes ! I know where the Panera is in Vero Beach, but where is this Joy of Eating restaurant ? I assume it is a separate entity ?

The Joy of Eating is where Carvel used to be on the corner of the three avenues shopping area and rt. 60, next to the noodle place. Park at Panera and they are to the South.

If only there was a Trader Joe's and Costco I would have found my Shangri-la. Add a great waterpark and my relatives closer and I'd be in heaven ;D.
