Our new house has an in-ground swimming pool but no screen around it. We would like to put one in, but I have two questions that maybe some of you with screened-in pools can answer:

Does the screen increase your home insurance cost, and if so, how drastically ?

How long do the screens last ? I assume that unless they are damaged, they have a fairly long lifespan (as in, more than ten years). My husband was worried about the sun and other non-storm elements effecting the screening.

Thanks for any input !

You can insure or not. I have insurance on mine for $15k costs about $150. They have different grades of screen. If you get the best, you can figure on 15 yrs. Have them put a 6"- 12" aluminum panel around the bottom. It looks better with the screen all the way to the slab, but they invariably get damaged at the very bottom.
