What do you like to do? There's a good art museum, art studios, many beaches, hiking trails, Sebastian Inlet State Park, Golf, McKee Gardens, fishing, boat tours of the lagoon, air boat rides to see alligators (Fellsmere), 2 treasure museums, boutiques , and lots of good restaurants and bars.

I lived in Vero Beach for a short time, but I haven't been there since 2009. I would probably just relax if I only had a few days, since the beaches are beautiful. However, the above suggestions are all good. There's a nice state park in Sebastian, just north of Vero. The Kennedy Space Center is only about 80 miles north. Depends on what you find interesting. You can drive along A1A, which takes longer than I-95, but it's more scenic.

Plenty of golf courses. Shopping is poor unless you drive to WPB

If you like to walk, go up Ocean Drive to where it meets Greytwig Road, turn right and park along the boardwalk (this is still Ocean Drive). You can walk down to Jaycee Park and take in the ocean views. Then go back down Ocean Drive and have lunch at Cobalt, the oceanfront restaurant inside the Vero Beach Resort and Spa. They have a great view.
