Funny how most loved him before he was President.
I'm from the NYC metro area, and members of my family knew the Trumps - through business dealings and church. Trump was well known and not well-liked in NYC. They were unfair to their help. and to people who were employed by them. NYC may seem big. but word spreads.

They were registered, Democrats, not conservative in any way, including lifestyle.

They were a bigoted family, who put up a fuss when the first Italian-American family bought a home in Jamaica Estates. My relatives lived there.

Fred senior was a Klan member and objected to Irish-Catholic policemen "telling him what to do". The NYC Klan was mostly against Catholic immigrants, not African Americans. At the time, their "problem" was with all of the people arriving from Ellis Island.

So, most people who knew the Trumps did not "like" them. Donald was seen as a self-promoting flashy playboy, who went on local TV shows starting in the early 80s, and was a fixture at discotheques, like The LimeLight and Studio 54.

He was a womanizer and not known as a nice person.

His presidency did not change my perception of what he was.

I think every president has to have a library. I am not sure why.

Would the contractors building such a library get paid in full?

That's a good question. If past performance is any indication, if I were a contractor; I'd ask for cash upfront.

I am not a Trump supporter but enjoy visiting presidential libraries and think they are American treasures. I would plan a trip. His presidency was historic and his papers are worthy of preservation.
The docents who volunteer at those places know their stuff and make the experience worth it.

Will the library hold only the titles that the man himself has read?

Then it should be a very, very small library. I know he read a compilation of Hitler's speeches and keeps it on his night table. He's not much of a reader.

Most times Presdiential Libraries are priivately funded, so wherever it's built, the pious among you aren't required to visit anything "Trump", including his library.

Move on.

yes^ perhaps you're right, right now I'm more focused on inflationary policies, strong borders, employment, and family/societal values being eroded e.g. "When Harry Became Sally"
