Default Vero -Waterway Village neighborhood

We are considering a purchase in Isles Waterway Village for seasonal use. I was wondering if this was in the Gifford area people have been referring to. The development is around 58th Avenue and 49th street. Entering the development from one direction, the area seemed nice but approaching it from a different area, it seemed a little questionable. Don't want to appear judgmental but we do want to feel reasonably safe. I realize comments must be taken with a grain of salt but I was really shocked at some of the comments here about POINTE WEST. I guess renting in different communities might be wiser than purchasing...just that prices seem good now...we love the Sebastian-Vero area.
