Hi,

I'm thinking of renting an apartment in/near downtown Beaverton, specifically north of the Beaverton Max TC. Does anyone know of any good apartment complexes that have 2-3 beds and 2 baths with max rent of 900? Also, how safe is it in that vicinity? Looking at CrimeMapper at portlandmaps.com is very disheartening I wonder how far back the statistics show.

Your crimes in that area are mostly domestic abuse and car prowlings. There aren't going to be a lot of murders.

Look along Electric Street just west of Cedar Hills. There are about five apartment complexes there that should fit what you're looking for.

Thank you for the recommendation. While driving through the neighborhood, I actually got cut off in front of me. The fact that she cut me off without signalling didn't bother me as much but she had 3 kids in the car. I don't think I'm gonna like that whole area much since one of the many reasons why I left California a few years ago was to get away from bad drivers. I'll have to look elsewhere.

Does anyone know of any good neighborhood that takes less than 30 minutes of commute via Max? I don't mind bicycling/driving a bit to the park and ride.

Uh... OoooK. That's a pretty dumb reason to decide not to live some where in my opinion. Now if you said "I was cut off twice, tail gated three times, honked at twice while at a red light, flipped off, and rammed head on without any sort of apology," then I'd understand not wanting to live somewhere.

But seriously, getting cut off happens so rarely that I don't let it bug me at all.

Like I said, getting cut off didn't bother me. It's the fact that she had kids in the car and was driving dangerously, which tells me how well she loves her kids and what she thinks of kids in general. It wasn't out on the street either but on the complex parking lot/driveway. I don't have kids now nor do I know how long I'll be staying there until I can get my own place. So I may end up having kids before I move and I don't want my kids playing in complex and getting ran over.

Since I got here, I've been around some neighborhoods and never once did get cut off. I've seen some occasional speeders but they still signal and drive safely, even parts of Aloha and Beaverton that was mentioned in this forum as bad with gang activities. Maybe I'm just an old geezer for my age
