So as I was watching KOIN yesterday during the 6'o clock news. I heard perhaps one of the most bizarre things I had ever heard. Mind you I've heard some off things about Portland but none of them quite as... odd as this. The news anchor said Portland was often compared to Brooklyn with similarities... and I have to ask really? realllllly? how are the 2 even partially similar?

Is that just to make Portland seem more relevant?

Well.. don't keep us in suspense, I am sure the KOIN anchor must have mentioned what some of those similarities were...

Actually it is the similarities of Portland and Williamsburg to be exact, Brooklyn as a whole is nothing like Portland. Basically it is referring to the number of young hipsters, the use of organic, fix gear and bike friendly, beards, mustaches, and such. Which honestly Williamsburg does kind of remind me of the people I would find in Portland.

Now does the New York Times have a love affair with Portland? That answer is most definitely yes.

Wait. I thought you were leaving town to go back to your beloved San Francisco. Why are you still here? We were so glad when you decided to leave.

Whenever they come to upstate New York, I work with a slew of Brooklyn-based hipster political canvassers, and they always speak fondly of Portland.

Two years ago, they traveled to your fair city to help garner support for Props 66 and 67. They found the rain issue to be over-hyped and not much of a bother.

Also, Bank Simple just transferred their offices from Brooklyn to Portland. It's all part of the more expensive blue state to cheaper blue state trend.

Guys, I think it's best if we don't respond to Jayuso. To all the noobs out there, it's best if you don't respond too.

I'd imagine Brooklyn is still more dirty and more ghetto despite the fact its fixed up compared to how it used to be. You'll never catch me living there. Good chance I move to Plattsburgh NY/Rochester before I move to Brooklyn.
