Would you consider Portland more four-season or subtropical? The winters seem a bit too warm for it to be truly-four season (as mild as Georgia), also the spring and fall just seem like transitions between winter and summer, not really distinct seasons of their own.

Portland is closer to two season to me. Maybe 2.5 or three if you're generous.

Summer is summery. Fall is fall-like. Winter and Spring are remarkably similar, except Spring is gorgeous with everything blooming.

Wet, yes. Sub tropical? Not at all. Portland does not have really hot/humid summers and mild winters. The year basically goes like this: Jan-March: cold, icy at times, rain, gray, sleet. April-June: temps start to warm up a bit (60s and 70s) but still plenty of days that are chilly or are rainy. June, in my opinion June sucks. By that time I am done with wet and cold, I want it to be sunny and warm and get outside. But June is given the nickname June Gloom for a reason. Never a Rose Festival parade goes by without people praying that it wont rain.
July-Sept are fantastic. Warm, even hot days. Its great! October-December its back to rain rain rain again

Depends on where your coming from. But yes I consider it four seasons except fall and spring can be very wintery. Boise and SLC have definitive four seasons. But if your looking for changes in the temperature and foliage etc. portland won't disappoint. But just prepared for 3 of those seasons to be defined by heavy cloud cover and rain.

I would say it is two. Rainy season (8 months a year, with somewhat varying temps.) and then Summer (which I think lasts into October).
Maybe it's a fluke, but I feel like we haven't really had that much rain the last few falls (at least not until December). I'm fairly observant of this as I'm racing cyclocross in either the mud or dry every weekend through out the fall.

Portland... Four... Seasons...? Hahahahahahahahaha... HeHeHeHeHeHeHeHe... Whooo Boy!

Okay, I've recovered. Sorry for the sarcasm, but no, Portland does not come anywhere close to being a place you could say has four seasons. The summers are glorious, and occasionally the falls are clear and crisp like I envision fall to be, but fall, winter, and spring tend to blend together into one long gray wet season. Portland has many great things to offer, but four seasons are not among them.

For reference, I grew up in Montana, Alaska, and went to college in Minnesota. To me four seasons are as follows: Wet, blustery, showery, spring. Hot, dry summer with occasional thunder storms. Clear, crisp falls. And winter ain't winter without snow!

Would you say Portland weather has more in common with Florida or Minnesota?

Neither, especially NOT Florida. What exactly are you looking for as far as answers to your post? Portlands weather is similar to Seattle's or maybe San Fransisco (its a stretch). Where do you cme up with Florida and Minnesota?

Since no one has provided one of these yet, I'll re-tell our favorite...

Portland has four seasons. Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter, and July 17th.
