I have recently moved to Portland (Cedar Mills area) and my husband and I have switched to an all natural all organic diet. However, New Seasons and Whole Foods is not the most economical choice. The Farmer's market (at PSU) is fine but it is not year round.
Are there any more economical alternatives in the Cedar Mills/Beaverton area?

Trader Joe's carries a lot of organic products and Fred Meyer has a pretty good organic produce selection. I think they also carry organic dairy as well. If you moved here very recently you may not be aware of the wonderful Beaverton Farmer's Market that runs from May through October. Doesn't do you much good now, but you'll love it in the summer.

Look into CSAs, although there are none right now. In fact there is one just down the street from you.

The other option is raised boxes and cold frames in your backyard.

I live in Eugene but I did a little search and found this site for the Portland area and it looks like a wealth of information as well as food buying clubs and such.
