Default Gay part of town??

I am going to be going to Portland and I wondering what part of the city is Gay friendly like to drive around. Also what part of portland is worth driving around to see what the city is like. We are mainly going to the outside of the city for some rafting and camping activities, but I have a few hours to drive around the first and last day.

What do you recommend?

Thanks

P.S> We are gay but not flaming faggets, but we do want to drive around the gay part of it, see what it looks like.

You might want to check out this brochure which will give you some venues with addresses. I'm not gay, so you might want to take what I say with a grain of salt. I think that if there were to be a part of town that would be called the "gay part" it would be the Burnside triangle, a triangular (big surprise) area bounded by West Burnside on the north, Stark on the south, and between 10th and about 12th or 13th. (Jake's, a Portland institution and a great ---if not a little spendy--- seafood restaurant is in that area.) But it's not a large area, and not many venues.

The only other real "area" I know would be not too far from there, along NW Broadway, north of Burnside, about the dividing line between the Pearl and Old Town districts.
