Hello!

I am moving to Portland in August to get my Masters in Writing: Book Publishing, and I got a ping from a Westfal Apartment representative that a 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom unit opened up. It's super close to the university so I'd like to apply for it, but I haven't found any reviews on the place.

Has anyone lived there/had friends who lived there before? And if so, would you/they recommend living there again?

Warmly,
alaskagirl

No real experience with the place, but it does look reasonably well maintained from the outside.

Thanks for the reply, Jason!

I hope to get some more information on the Westfal Apartments, but the lack of responses here and the lack of reviews worries me.

I would take this lack of reviews as a good sign as most people don't review great places.

I think it's worrisome when there are absolutely no reviews (nothing on Google Places, Yelp, or ApartmentRatings). People are more likely to review when they have extremely positive *or* negative experiences.

Hmm, see I'm flipping back and forth about it, too.

Has this ever happened to either of you?

Although he only posted once to the forum perhaps pdxguy80085 still looks in from time to time. Try sending him a DM you never know. Regardless, this post seems pretty positive.

I know someone who lived there. She liked it but said it was over priced. And if you have a car the parking is very expensive.

Yup, I searched and found that comment, too! I've sent him a message.

Yes, that's the one downfall. The car parking lot is expensive, but it's comparable with a bunch of other apartment parking lots I've been finding, too. So maybe parking in Portland is just... expensive? Having only visited there once two years ago, I didn't really find that to be so, but I also stayed at a hotel and didn't really drive around all that much, preferring walking instead.
