Hi all,

I am pregnant with my first baby and found out last Wednesday. I have been having mild period cramping for the last few days. They started right before I found out I was pregnant and I just thought I was starting my period, which obviously I am not. They have continued. I do not have the cramping all day, but rather sporadically and before falling asleep most nights. Is this normal?

Thanks!

I def had that when I was preg and my sister did as well. I had them actually through 8 weeks or so. Its probably the egg implanting further. A lot of women don't think they're pregnant because they continue to get period like cramps for a while then are shocked when they find out their 9 weeks preg. If you are seriously worried you can call ur OB and they can help you out but like I said I had it with my daughter and my sister had them as well (she became those I didn't know I was pregnant till 12 weeks girl) cause she just kept waiting and waiting for her period to come complaining she could "feel it" coming on

I had mild cramping early on, and I thought I was going to get my period, when in fact I was pregnant. However, if I were you, I would call my doc just to make sure...Good Luck.

Cramping is coming in early stages of pregnancy. If it is not followed by brownish/reddish tinge or blood staining then do not worry so much. The further along in your pregnancy and the bigger you get you will experience different forms of cramping and even false contractions aka Braxton Hicks. For some it will be mild, for others painful. My first pregnancy I had cramps and all sorts of pain relatively on the mild side, this pregnancy oh boy! I could rip the toughest of wall paper off.

I wish you all the best in your pregnancy and never be afraid to call your ob/gyn if you feel that there is something truly wrong. You will know!

Congrats on your pregnancy! I am 17 wks pregnant after two miscarriages!! From my experiences bleeding is when to worry... followed by horrible cramping. As long as no blood is involved I wouldn't worry much (easier said than done) I hope all goes well with your pregnancy and good luck!

When in doubt, call your provider.

I had mild cramping, too, from 5-8 weeks. I confirmed pregnant at 7 weeks.
