My SO is pregnant. She and I are wondering if there are any people on here that have had a natural birth and to see if there are any support groups out there.

Find out from your midwife-she should be able to point you in the right direction. There are lots of natural parenting groups out there, i.e breastfeeding (LaLeche League) AP, etc. I've never heard of any natural birth support groups out there, but the midwife would know, or perhaps meeting other adults in a childbirth class would be the way to go.

Each birth is different, too...I wanted all natural with the child I'm carrying now but I have to have interventions; I'm considered a high risk pregnancy and will require some intervention. I had natural with my last one and had the support of my husband and OB...that's all I needed. Sometimes too much information is TOO much, if you know what I mean.

have you asked your OB? She should have all that info- Try asking at the front desk. Frequently office staff knows much more than doc.

Try Birthnetwork in your area, they tend to be very supportive of natural birth and homebirth:

I had one of each- the "routine medicated" when I was young enough to not know I had any rights (such as refusing medication), & then an all-natural afterward...
while the person who said all births are different is correct in general, med vs. non-med also makes a difference.

You can pm me and tell me where exactly you are. I am a birth doula and have some connections around the country. There are also various online boards if you are interested.

Infants and children absolutely do not need chiropractic "adjustment".

This thread is almost five years old, so the baby in the OP is about ready for kindergarten now.

If anyone else is interested in natural childbirth, contact the hospital where you plan to deliver. Most offer childbirth classes which can be helpful even if you do plan to have something for pain relief in labor.

At this point, the evidence is that planned home birth is riskier than delivery in a hospital.
