I was thinking about this thread earlier today....
Even though we now know who was the first head coach (HC) fired, I think it's not so much which HC had the worst performance, as several teams did, but it seems more like which OWNER has the least tolerance for failure, shortest fuse, biggest ego to win, etc.
Secondarily, were all 3 of those owners chomping at the bit to fire their HC, but none wanted to be first to pull the trigger and thus admit defeat or face heat for hiring a bad coach?
Once Dallas pulled the trigger, the flood gates opened and now 3 HC's are fired in mid-season. I'm not sure I recall that many HC's being canned during the season. Anyone have a better memory than mine?

So here it is... based on current ESPN Coaches Ratings list;
I'd like to put a plug in for Josh McDaniels, but hey, I'm partial.
Now admittedly, the list may not be complet enough. For example, Mike Singletary is not on the list. I also didn't give the option "other". But I think this list is inclusive enough to hit the mark.

Mike is right. I've followed the NFL for decades and I don't ever recall this many coaches going down, at least during the season anyway. I'm gonna jog the old memory banks to see if I can come up with something comparable here.
