Not to mention the fact that they only beat two playoff teams that year, and got spanked every other time they faced one. They edged Miami in their second meeting. They blew out the Cards in a blizzard. Beating a desert team in a snowstorm is a HUGE accomplishment

They got embarrassed by Miami, San Diego, and Pittsburgh. Largely due to the offense being unable to move the ball. Yeah, sure Tom Brady would have made no difference in that category.

because the Patriots were going to go 16-0 that year as well.

11-5 is still a far cry from 2-14

No it doesn't change my opinion of him because one game doesn't erase what he's already done.

This is about as straight forward and common sense as it gets.

What if the Patriots had lost to the Ravens? This thread wouldnt even exist. We would probably be talking about Flacco and if finally reaching the SB changed your opinion of him.

Brady has been on 3 Super Bowl winning teams, won MVP awards, broke NFL records, and lead the Patriots to being an average NFL franchise to one of the marquee ones. They are now listed with the Steelers, Packers, Cowboys, and Bears as one of the elite franchises in the NFL. Whereas before, they were nothing more than any team among 32.

14-2 or 15-1 wouldn't be far fetched.

Interestingly enough, the Pats only beat one winning team this past season and that was the Ravens in the playoffs whom they needed a dropped pass by Lee Evans to secure the victory. Live by the dropped pass, die by the dropped pass I guess. Good news for the Pats though is that their schedule next season is likely even easier than their past years schedule. Heck, they get to play the Broncos who will probably be the worst team in their division next season.

of course, we do have information on how the Patriots fared without Brady, they went 11-5 with a guy who never started a game in college, couldn't beat out teammate Matt Leinart, and whose college coach was counting on being able to sign him as a free agent b/c he didn't think he'd get drafted, in the SEVENTH round. (Brady's a sixth rounder man! )
LOL, well played. I forgot the Cassel season. For some reason though, the Patriots look like they have nothing except for Brady to me.
