So now Sam Bradford, Reggie Wayne, and Brian Cushing are out for the season (as of the end of Week 7, well there's still the MNF game), and Jermichael Finley's career may be done (from what I was reading today). It seems like, from the day training camps opened til now, there have been more season-ending injuries to rather important players than I can ever recall.

There's probably some sort of statistic on this that may prove me wrong, but just from my own intuition it feels like the worst it's been in a while.

It was a brutal day yesterday. Plenty of other players also had significant injuries. My guess is there is no real reason. Just bad luck.

Jermichael was up and around today, but they say he has a serious injury, and is in the hospital. His family, specifically his son, told him when he had the concussion a few weeks ago, don't play football, daddy.

Bears got hit, too. Jay Cutler will be out 4 weeks or so, Briggs 6 weeks, serious stuff. Manderly is probably right, no real reason.

Sure seems like it... I don't remember this many players being out for the year across the league.

For everyone who says Matt Ryan is only as good as his receivers... with Julio Jones out for the season and Roddy White missing his first game ever Ryan still threw for nearly 300 yards and 3 TDs despite Tony G being double teamed.

LOL

I thought that was very impressive. I was expecting them to struggle.

Eliminating high hits makes tacklers go for the legs...knees only bend one way.

Decades ago players were more likely to play while hurt. Today, owners want to protect their multi-million dollar investments, so they give players a chance to heal and recover. Players also have better protection under the players union today.

Bingo...!! The new rule is more dangerous and causing a lot of serious leg injuries.

Yep, more knees, not a good thing at all, but what are defenders supposed to do with a smaller target area?
