Considering they were ahead in Seattle, I think over confidence, getting excited on the sideline because they were ahead, caused them to be caught off guard.
Packers could use a fiery personality on their sideline, McCarthy is a winning coach, no doubt but sometimes the calm, quiet approach Packers organization has could use a jump start!
Don't look now but here come the Seahawks! Vikings are down 28-0 in the 3rd quarter, anything can happen but I don't think Vikes can play from behind very well.
Yeah, the Seahawks haven't been as dominant but they are still a dangerous team and I give them a lot of credit for going on the road and sticking it to a quality opponent the way they are. It's looking like they are going to improve to 7-5 today and despite being a bit too far behind the Cards to win their division they could be a dangerous team in the playoffs.
Most definitely dangerous. Fox switched to the Bears 49ers, which is tied at 13, Bears are in the hunt actually. Vikings are missing several key players, and they just can't play from behind very well. If they don't get those players back, Thursday could get ugly, they play the Cardinals.
Ok.. So, yes, crazy thought.. BUT. We figure the second wildcard is going to be 9-7 at best. Detroit would have to win out for that to happen. BUT.. Look at their schedule.. It's possible. Really possible.
They have the Rams, Saints and 49ers left to play. that.. Should be 3-0 right there.
Then, a game against the Packers and a game against the Bears. They win both those games, they'll have the best division record, so.. They'd have the tiebreaker over Chicago.
Tampa plays the Panthers again, but.. Week 17.. They lose a game somewhere in their schedule.
Seahawks have the Vikings, Ravens and Cardinals all on the road. I don't think they make it in.
Falcons are in the drivers seat, but.. They've just fallen apart. Can they put it back together again?
That would put Detroit as the #6 seed, and a likely away game against Washington first round. I'd actually bet on Washington in that game (Because Washington has been astounding at home). But.. What a story.. A team that starts 0-5 making the playoffs.
Well, one week and Seattle is 7-5, Detroit is 4-8, and the Seahawks still have the head-to-head tiebreaker.
Seattle hasn't sewn up a wild card spot, but they're in the driver's seat. And if someone does catch them, it sure won't be the hapless Lions - it'll be Tampa or Atlanta. It's also possible Seattle could grab the #5 slot ahead of Minnesota or (less likely) Green Bay. But Minnesota has already clinched finishing ahead of Detroit (they're 8-4 to the Lions' 4-8 and they have the tiebreaker) and the odds of the Lions finishing 4-0 combined with a Packers 0-4 collapse are astronomical.
Lions probably aren't going anywhere. I thought Bears would win today but a loss to the 49ers, Vikings lost and their road is tough as they have key players out, Cardinals on Thursday then the Bears.
To me, Carolina and Seattle are the teams to watch for the NFC championship and the super bowl. They are playing the most inspired football in the league right now.
Yes Seattle is definitely the team to be concerned about playing in the playoffs. They're looking super bowl ready right now.
