Rule Question (sport, player)

Football is supposed to be a contact sport. Can somebody who has a rule book go through it and count up just how many separate specific ways there are in which it is prohibited to touch another player? Every season, it seems like there are more and more rules about what part of another player you can touch, or how you can touch him, or where on the field you can do it, or when. How many such prohibitions are there now?
