Real Action Paintball, Inc, (RAP4) is a manufacturer and distributor of paintball gaming guns and accessories, customs products and tactical gear for the military, law enforcement, and paintball fans the world over. One look at one of their new, sleek beauties, the RAP4 Airsoft System paintgun, and you'll see why. The RAP4 Airsoft System has an all-metal construction, so they have the weight and feel of a standard assault rifle. The metal is also resistant to water, so you don't have to call a good fight off due to bad weather. You can also make various modifications to them, such as adding a sight, scope, or mount.

The RAP4 Airsoft System uses compressed air as the trigger, powered by 45g refillable or 45g disposable CO2 cylinders conveniently hidden inside the butt stock. This power sets off a blazing 400-feet per second shot, and groupings of seven inches over 50 yards. This is power, accuracy and durability all wrapped up into a nice $550 package, and sure to take your paintball or training experiences to a whole new level.

The RAP4 Airsoft System is also the first of its kind that ejects shell casings after each shot, giving you the full "assault-rifle" experience. The 6-milimeter projectiles, once loaded into the fitted shell casing in detachable twenty round magazines, actually ejects out of the side of the gun once fired. You can select the type of fire you'd like to put down too, either semi-fire or automatic-round shooting.

Once you have held one of these guns in your hands, and you'll need both of them, you will truly feel like you belong out on the battlefield. The sleek design makes it relatively easy to carry, although the all-metal weight may play a factor in balance and aiming. We found it a little hard to control unless you really had a firm grip, and shots tended to go wild. This gun is certainly not for lightweights.

Another great feature is the conversion kit. Unfortunately, most paint guns are not setup automatically to handle BB pellets, so the conversion kit allows your RAP4 Airsoft to be converted to shoot like a BB-gun. The conversion kit is relatively easy to install, and isn't a permanent mount, making it easy to load and unload in less than two minutes. The kit also is geared to work with the standard RAP4 Airsoft twenty-round magazine, so it's really easy to go from BBs to paint and back again. While the conversion kit is a great addition, it's also not cheap, and you'll pay about $100 extra.

One of the few disappointments you may find with the RAP4 Airsoft is the reloading of the magazine. The all-metal design of course, besides bulky, adds a little waiting time between magazine clip changes, because you have to set the gun down, and smack the clip in really hard to get loaded again. In a furious paint-battle with your friends, this might serve as a disadvantage if there's no cover.
