For my daughter's 8th birthday we purchased her a Razor E100 pink Daisy electric scooter. She had seen one of her friends on an electric scooter and has been wanting one ever since. We purchased it at a national toy store for $129.00. Our daughter was excited to receive the present as we were to give it to her.
Unlike so many other toys and gadgets, the Razor E100 scooter comes fully assembled. We purchased the daisy model for girls that comes in pink and has flowers on it. The same model can b e purchased in a variety of colors for boys or girls. The manufacturer recommended it for children between the ages of 8-14.
The Daisy E100 is battery powered and has a chain driven motor. The motor is pretty quiet and can run up to five miles on one charge. The scooter needs to be charged overnight before its first use. The plug is located under the deck and simply plugs into a regular wall outlet to charge. The Daisy's power supply lasts for quite a long time and it can reach speeds up to 10 mph. it was very easy for our daughter to operate. The accelerator is on the right handle bar and has a twist grip motion to speed it up. The brake is located on the left handle bar. The deck is much wider on the E100 than regular non-electric scooters. This makes it much safer to ride.
It is low to the ground and cannot be taken off road in any capacity. The front wheel is rubber and filled with air while the back wheels are plastic. It does weigh over thirty pounds which makes it a little on the heavy side. It doesn't fold up and will not fit in some cars.
