Diamondback Fitness 1260Ef Elliptical Trainer

Rating: 4 out of 5
  • Currently 4.0/5.0

The Diamondback Fitness 1260Ef Elliptical Trainer is a high end fitness machine priced at $2,199. The adjustable magnetic braking system provides resistance across 20 different levels. With a maximum weight capacity of 325 pounds the machine is sturdy enough to hold the majority of adults.
There is a large console that provides the user with lots of information such as time of use, the intensity of the workout, degree of incline, number of calories used, heart rate, and distance. The machine includes two ways to monitor heart rate in order to determine the effectiveness of the exercise. One option is to use the chest strap while the other option is the handgrips that have sensors to monitor pulse.
The frame is strong and sturdy, made of steel that has been welded tight and applied with a powder coat that resists rust. The ball bearings have a seal around them to keep them from collecting dust and the polymer bearings are lubricated permanently to provide years of use.
Different programs are available to provide variety to the users over time. Five of the programs can be used with the Quick Start feature and they cover hill climbing, sprinting, intervals, random cross or manual. Five more programs are heart rate specific to allow the user to set a program designed to reach a particular rate.
The machine includes a reading rack to hold books or magazines and allow the user to keep their hands on the machine. A pause mode is included in case the user needs to stop for any reason.
The company is committed to the customer's satisfaction evidenced by their warranty program. The frame and brake each have a limited lifetime warranty. The smaller parts, as well as the electronics, are covered by a 5 year warranty. The labor used to assemble the pieces is covered by a one year warranty.
