I seem to keep running into men who have stalking issues, I know some women would be nervous and kind of bothered but im actually flattered and turned on to know that a man takes the time to check on me to make sure I'm ok
Is it in every mans DNA to stalk women? Rather it be physical stalking or cyber stalking. Are they doing it as a form of chivalry or should I be worried?
Yes! I see attractive women on the streets of NYC who wear skirts / shorts and men stop in their tracks to look back and sometimes follow them into stores.

When I think of stalking, I think: watching you through your window habitually without your knowledge...when you're not neighbors, covering his entire room with pictures taken of you without your knowledge, or hiding under the steps of your house so he can watch your feet.
If your definition of stalking is any of the above, then no. Buy a taser and a large dog.
If men stop being stalkers, then one of two things will need to happen:
1. Women will become stalkers, or
2. Babies won't happen anymore.
In every species, one sex, by nature, is the stalker of the other sex. It is a highly elaborate phenomenon in some species, and it often evolves into sexual dimorphism, where one sex is conspicuously different from the other in order to enable stalking and courtship displays.
The reason that happens, is the necessity for individuals of the two sexes to come together in order to reproduce, which is the essential purpose of all living species.

How many other men can recall even in their earliest years 'stalking' from a distance, and then closer via 'planned proximity' encounters to find out if a potential attractive member of opposite sex was indeed all they thought them to be?
Amazing how skilled some of us are at inadvertently being in the same place (or how our route may change) as the girl / woman we think is desirable - is in sight ..
And yes, there is indeed 'negative' stalking from the not too bright and socially inept - and sometimes the psychologically impaired, but to the OPs question it is ingrained (IMO) in a cultural anthropological sense.
