Easy enough and done all the time.

I was given a Blackberry smart phone a few years ago by a friend. I never used it for anything except phone communications.

After several years of paying for the service for it, I recently went back to my LG flip phone. There's days on end where it doesn't even get turned on. And it can't do all that other stuff.

Something interesting along those lines... Last summer I was at the beach and the younger people couldn't decide if they wanted to stay on dry land and text - or go into the water. Many of them just stood there in the sand texting.

And also last summer, I watched a kid text while also playing basketball. He just COULD NOT put his cell phone down!

So far as my home, people will come over, ignore me, and sit there texting. So I am thinking of inviting people over for just that...

Me calling them: "Hi, what are you doing?"

Them: "Nothing!"

Me: "Want to come over, ignore me, and text other people for hours on end?" "Or maybe we could go to a movie and you could sit there texting and not watch a bit of the movie?"

you silly people- in 1991- how did you survive? No computers- internet was primitive--

today? I have a basic flip phone- its a relief not to be 'wired' I have my home computer- so I stand guilty of being addicted- somewhat- when I leave the house its like 1991 all over again- my cell phone is used for that- texting- but rarely- no data service.

My cell phone is a phone. Period. It makes and receives voice calls.
No texting or any of the other "apps" that so many seem to be fond of.
I dropped it in a snow drift once, and was without it for nearly a week. When I found it, it wouldn't work, and it was several days before I could get a new one.
I did not have withdrawal symptoms, did not go psychotic, no problems at all.

I have now gone 27 months without a cell phone. Don't miss it. I have OnStar if I have car trouble.

I think cell phones have already driven people crazy. At least, they drive like it.

Hell yes I could....

I'm not addicted to technology like most people these days, lol
I could do without all electronics & be fine....

No tv, no phone, no computer.....

Only thing I cannot go without is music

I could throw it in the river and never miss it at all. I only use my phone for the occasional text and in case of emergency.
