I got to my dentist appointment a little early yesterday. In the waiting room, there were stacks of "womens' interest" magazines -- Vanity Fair, Womens Health, Self, Cosmo, and others -- but only one lousy magazine that I was even remotely interested in reading, and that was a golf magazine that's not only for men anyway! Do women get more cavities or what?

I don't usually pick the spring flowers that are opening now but since a snowstorm was predicted I brought some hyacinths into the house because they "smell good." That disgusting odor permeated the house and I threw them out and went to the grocery store and bought some flowers that don't stink.

I have ESPN, ESPNU, ESPN2, and ESPNNEWS, but I was upset last weekend because I couldn't watch the NCAA hockey playoff games on ESPN3.

I reached into my purse to grab a mint and found the tin was open and empty. Now I have to dig out all of the mints from the bottom of my bag. Which is now minty fresh.

OK - my Craigslist conundrum is rectified and I am the happy owner of a sewing machine that looks like it came out of the Jetson household.

I did not carry a gun or cash. It was a nice neighborhood, and a nice lady was selling the sewing machine, and thankfully she had it out in her garage so that was all good.

She took a check. She told me that anyone who was interested in vintage sewing machines is probably good for the money (I am).

The difficult thing was - I hardly remember how to write a check. I realized that my checks had an address on them that was two houses back. I could barely write the date.

It was so difficult. But my troubles had just begun, because I also had to load it up in my SUV.

I have a list of problems today:

Just found out that I have a meeting today to discuss some local issues, time to be determined.

It's raining, so I can't move the wood I have piled up in the front yard from the 45 ft. pine tree I had to cut down Thursday.

Related to that, Mrs. NBP is bitching and moaning about the tree being gone. The most recent is that she got wet coming in from yoga (it's raining, remember) because the tree is gone.

Related, again, to the tree, it cost me $1000 to have it taken down.

I forgot to get coffee when I got groceries Wednesday (I day early because of the tree coming down Thursday) and also didn't account for the extra day with food for the week.

That damned tree has screwed my entire week up.

Visiting my parents who live about 90 miles away. I thought my sibling had told them (as she talks to them daily). When we were getting close I told her to call to let them know our ETA and she asked me if had told them about the visit. I told her I thought she did. Good thing they were home.

It is a crisis around here today and I am going to be compelled to make fresh biscuits and hamburger gravy for lunch and *then* sacrifice myself for the good of others and eat it.......

I wanted french toast for dinner for some reason, but the only bread I had was banana bread.

Now that's a first world problem. Yummmm!!!
