I know that alcohol can impair the senses and so you are more prone to say things that you would not say if in a sober state. But, I often wonder if being intoxicated allows a person to more freely tell the truth or make them lie even more. More times than not whatever was said is not remembered the next day. Just a thought.

I"m a firm believer in drunken words being a persons sober thoughts. So yes, people are more honest.

I am not sure. Sometimes. I have admitted feelings for someone while intoxicated.

But I have also said and had said to me some pretty horrible things. None of them I meant/believed or they meant/believed – neither of us could even remember saying them.

NO! My husband would make up the most crazy stories and tell people that he used to live in England, that he owned a jet, that he owned RCA, and all kinds of crazy stuff....

I never trust anything people say when they're drunk.

Nope! Some people get more honest, and some people say things they don't mean. You have no way of knowing the difference.

It sure does. It's called liquid courage and it can make people do things they don't normal do or say. That's like at the company Christmas party when someone kisses the boss's wife while dancing, and then falls to the dance floor with her! lmao Even better when he tells his boss off for what he has been thinking for the last 20 years! lol

i think the real person tends to come out more. if the person is a liar, they will lie more. if they are an honest but maybe shy person, they tend to open up and tell their true feelings. unfortunately in either case you usually don't know the difference unless you know them extremely well.

Absolutely not. Alcohol impairs the mind. It is a myth that drunks say what they really think.
