genetics most certainly do influence behavior. the word "predict" was never used. domesticated animals have clear genetic markers for domestication in their DNA. it's why you can't fully tame a wolf - well, you could but it would require generations of selective breeding. human traits are largely determined by our DNA as well. nature beats nurture when it gets down to brass tacks.
